YOUNG 3’s CLASS:

Tuesday/Thursday. Mornings (NOT OFFERED FOR 2023/24 SCHOOL YEAR)

(Children must be 3 by December 31)

The young 3’s class provides an opportunity for children to develop socialization skills in a loving and caring environment, fostering independence, and adjusting to a classroom routine.  Children will be introduced to new experiences using a varity of art (open ended art experiences are offered and encouraged but not required), music, large and small motor development, and social interaction.  The Young 3’s class also includes age-appropriate introduction to the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards in Math, Literacy, Science and Social Studies.

THREE YEAR OLD CLASSES:

Tues./Thurs. mornings

Student/Teacher Ratio – 15/2

Our 3’s classes provide an opportunity for children to develop socialization skills, interacting with peers and adults and limited structured teacher-directed times.  As children mature, activities and expectations are adjusted to encourage further growth and development.  These children are beginning to function as members of a group through cooperation, helping, and sharing.  The  3’s classes include age-appropriate learning experiences that meet the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards.

OLDER 3’s and 4’s CLASS:

Tues./Thurs./Fri. mornings or afternoons

(Children must be 4 by December 31st, 2023) – previous preschool experience preferred, but waived for 2023/24 school year due to COVID

Student/Teacher Ratio – 16/2

The older 3’s/ 4’s class is for children who have been enrolled in a preschool program and are ready for a more frequent preschool experience.  The children in this class typically have another year of preschool before they are eligible for kindergarten.  The class provides an opportunity for children to continue to refine their social skills, experience more structure and teacher directed activities, exposure to problem solving, and personal responsibility and independence.   The Older 3’s/ 4’s class includes age-appropriate learning experiences that meet the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards.

FOUR YEAR OLD CLASSES:

Our 4-year-old classes provide an opportunity for children to experience education and social growth in an environment that includes learning through play; reinforcement of socialization skills; problem solving; exposure to new learning experiences through art, science, music, enrichment opportunities.  They also include age-appropriate learning experiences that meet the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards   ALL 4-YEAR OLD CLASSES ARE DESIGNED TO PREPARE A CHILD FOR A SUCCESSFUL KINDERGARTEN EXPERIENCE.

FOUR & FIVE YEAR OLD CLASS:  

Monday – Friday mornings

(Children must be 5 by May 1st 2024)

The Pre-K 4/5 class curriculum includes all areas covered in the 4-year-old class program with special attention given to individual needs and development in a more structured setting with an emphasis on  independence, personal responsibility and a positive attitude toward education.   Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards are included daily.

MIXED AGE (Older 3s, 4s, and 5s):

Tues./Thurs./Fri. afternoons (not offered for the 2023/24 School Year)

Student/Teacher Ratio – 16/2

Our mixed-age class offers all the opportunities of both the older 3s/young fours class and the 4 year old class.  It allows the older children to develop as leaders  and the younger children to gain social skills that are modeled by the older children.  Most of their preschool time is spent together, but teachers plan small group, age-appropriate activities that allow for the older children to be prepared for kindergarten and the younger children for their next preschool experience. Age-appropriate learning experiences that meet the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards.
